Here are the most Frequently Asked Questions:
I Can’t download your podcast/I Can’t find it on my iPod
If you have a PC right-click on the link and “Save Target As”. Then Save it to your desktop, so you can find it. Then open iTunes and drag and drop the MP3 file into your general iTunes Library. Once you sync your iPod my “podcast” will NOT show up in the podcast section, because, technically it’s just an MP3. So, to find it, go to Artist, then Carli. If all else fails, ask a teenager to help you. (they are large files so it may take a few mins to download).
If you have MAC, Press the Control Key, then click the link. (they are large files so it may take a few mins to download).
How can I contact you?
You can send me an email (carli@runningintoshape.com) or leave me a message on my Facebook Fanpage. Your stories help remind me why I do what I do. Even if I can’t respond to everyone, please know that I read every message and email. Or if you really want to show your appreciation for my podcasts, you can make a donation.
When will you finish the Bridge to 10K Podcast?
This is the question I get asked pretty much daily. I have every intention to finish the 10 K podcast. The real issue is when I will have time to finish it. The answer is I don’t know. I’m sure that’s not what you wanted to hear, but it’s the truth. Right now I’m focusing on writing my first book. But, I’ll get back to it.
How do I get on Your 5K Race Day Wall of Fame?
Download my free Couch to 5K Podcast, Run a 5K, take a pic on race day. You can email me your picture or post it on my Facebook Page. I like to hear a little bit of your story too, so don’t be shy.
My knee hurts when I run, what should I do?
1) Ask your doctor
2) Wear an ACE bandage type knee brace
3) Stop drinking soda (diet and regular) – it helps, trust me!
Is there a special diet plan?
I recommend Weight Watchers (eat what you like, but count points (calories) or the South Beach Diet (eat mostly lean meats, whole grains and veggies, no counting)
Can I skip a week on the Couch to 5K Plan?
I don’t recommend skipping weeks. The plan is designed to gradually build your strength and endurance. If you feel like you want to do more, push yourself to run faster that week.
Is it okay to repeat days/weeks?
Of course, when I did the Couch to 5K program the first time, it took me about 12 weeks to complete. Being overweight added an extra challenge. It’s best to listen to your body, and do what feels right. Each week should feel fun and challenging, but not impossible.
What kind of shoes should I wear?
Everyone is different. I recommend that you find your local running store (yes they exist). The store attendants will monitor how you walk and size you for the appropriate shoe with the right fit. It helps to bring your current shoe so they can see which way your feet typically roll when you run/walk. I’m currently wearing Zoot Triatholon Shoes.
What do you do with the donations?
Actually, nobody has ever asked me that, but in case you’re wondering, I invest the money back into Running Into Shape.com. I pay the website hosting fees and I’m investing in my first book. I also use the money to pay my race entrance fees. I’m certainly not getting rich off my website, I do this for fun!
