Wow Michelle, you walked a half marathon thats amazing. Thats just what I hope to do next month. And don't get too excited, I ate the double cheeseburger, I only sampled the spicy kale LOL! As for cookies, I was sick of stressing over them, now they're gone!

Carli, I walked the Jimmy Fund walk back in Sept. I did the 1/2 marathon distance, 13.1 miles. ..it was not as bad as I thought it would be. This running thing is a whole different ballgame. But I keep thinking if I could walk that walk back in Sept because of the cause behind it then I can most certainly work through the pain, and get through a 5k. Not to mention I am doing 12 lbs lighter. I did think that today's distance was great. I was grinning from ear to ear when I got home.
OMG you gave up cookies??? I did eat cookies today before my work out. Having the damn girl scout cookies in the house is rough. Unfortunately I live with my darling girl scout. LOL I have done rather well. I have had them since Saturday, my down fall cookies are the thin mints. One sleeve as of today is gone. But I started eating them on Sunday. So I think 18 cookies per one sleeve and I finished them this afternoon. is was 10 cookies.. I was so upset with myself. But then I went for my run/walk. Felt a lot better after that. I am proud of you. Having the will power to just give them up.. just throwing them away. Not to mention going to IN and OUT burger and eating the vegan selections... girl I bow to you. I don't think I would have had the strength. I live in Maine, we do not have one here, but if I went and had the option to eat at one.. lord who knows what would happen. LOL Keep it up! I am proud of you.

Carli, I have to say THANK YOU! I have read several of your blogs, I have downloaded your podcasts and today I finished week 1 of my training. I feel great. I even improved. According to my pedometer I increased from my start day of 1.8 miles to today of 2.4 miles. You are an inspiration. Keep it up!

Sofi, I certianly want to run a 10K. I had huge (probably to big) dreams of running a half marathon in April. It doesn't look like I'm going to be able to run it, but I'm going to do everything I can to walk it and finish.

Carli, that is so impressive - April - as long as you do it - it won't matter how much you walk and or run - I will keep reading your blog and see how you did - Just know that lots of us out here will be rooting for you!! I am doing the C25K now to do a 4.2 mile as a segment of a Marathon Relay the first weekend in June and then the half marathon in September (the run is all down hill with the exception of the first mile) on a trail through the Black Hills of South Dakota, so even if I don't run the entire way I will be happy to have completed it. Thanks again for the inspiration.....

Thanks Carli, I do try and stay positive, but it can be frustrating as you probably know.. You are right it most definatly could have been a gain. My daughter joined girl scouts last year and I could not believe the amount of cookies she sold. What made me laugh the most today when I went and picked up the order, out of all the many cases of thin mints, peanut butter patties etc etc, there was one order for one lonely box of the "reduced fat" Daisy go rounds.. so out of all the cases one lonely box.. just goes to show you people don't think "LOW FAT" when it comes to these cookies! Thanks so much for being my new inspiration. I look forward to starting my 5k training.
