Parmesan Crusted Tilapia

I talked about  how good the fish was that I cooked on Friday,  but didn’t give you the recipe.  So…here you go!  Enjoy.

Lightly breaded tilapia filets with a cheesy flair.

Ingredients

24 ounce tilapia fillets
4 tbsp margarine, melted
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp paprika
1 tbsp water
2 eggs, beaten

Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees

  1. Rinse and dry tilapia filets.
  2. Beat eggs and mix with water in a small bowl.
  3. Mix bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, paprika, and butter in another bowl.
  4. Dip tilapia into the egg wash and then into the bread crumb mixture.
  5. Place in a greased glass dish and bake for 12-15 minutes.

Tips: I used seasoned bread crumbs for better flavor, and added a little bit of lemon juice for a special kick!

Sorry there are so many different fonts…I’ll try to clean it up later. I’m watching “Date Night” with Tina Fey and Steve Carrell, and then going to bed.

Thanks for sharing the recipe. I am gonna try this, it looks like its very tasty. Hubby is on a resticted diet right now so he can’t have the bread crumbs or lemon juice, but I wonder how it would taste without those for now. Have you ever made it without the bread crumbs?

Yum Thanks for sharing. I’m going to give it a try swapping out the margarine for greek yogurt.

Hey Linda, I have found other recipes without the breadcrumbs. I’ve never made it without it, but I’m sure it would turn out just fine. I would add lemon pepper seasoning if he can have that.

Tex, I’ve heard great things about greek yogurt, but I’ve never tried it. I’m sure that would reduce the calories and add a really unique flavor.
