I knew yesterday that I wouldn’t want to work out today, so I planned ahead and called my cousin to go to the gym with me. He is somebody who lives in a perpetual state of feeling like he needs to go to the gym, so I knew he wouldn’t flake out on me on Saturday morning. Just as I figured he text me at 9 am on the dot, saying “Wake Up, let’s go.” I probably would have gotten out of bed right then had we not stayed out until 2 in the morning (I didn’t plan that part so well, lol). Nonetheless, I had to drag myself out of bed, put on some clothes and go to the gym. I’m supposed to be training for a half marathon, and there’s no way to sugar coat it, the truth is, I haven’t been running. So, I went upstairs to the indoor track above the guys playing basketball. It was so humid; it was almost unsafe to run. So I figured we could just walk and we were sweating after only 10 minutes. While we were walking I got a call from Lyle, my personal trainer. He wanted to know when I was coming back to book camp class. I took great pride in telling him I was at the gym; I was so happy that I wasn’t at home eating ice cream or something when he called. Anyway, since it was so hot, we decided to just go down to the weight and machine room. We got on the elliptical machines next to each other for 20 minutes. Then, I got on the treadmill, which normally I don’t do, but because the track was so unbearable, I didn’t really have a choice. I put on my Week 2 podcast since I had already been working out for half an hour. It was a killer, but I did the running intervals for about 20 minutes. The treadmill is not as good as real running on the pavement, but I like that it keeps you running at a steady pace. After the treadmill I was good and funky. My cousin said, nope keep going we have 10 more minutes. So I got on the Exercise Ball
and did sit ups and balancing exercises. I got in a really good workout today, and running just feels good. I’m trying hard to get back to eating healthy. I had a granola bar for breakfast and I went back to that place Crazy Bowls and Wraps and got a Steak fajita bowl for lunch. While I was there I sampled some Quinoa
(pronounced Keen-wa). I’ve read about it in nutrition books, its a whole grain with protien. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. It tastes like brown rice with a funny texture. The steak fajita bowl was awesome. After lunch, I had to go to work to help out on a big case that’s heating up. After work I went to my sister’s salon and got all cute, and that was pretty much my day.
Hey Everybody! I’m BACK!!! Yesterday I wrote my sad little post about how upset I was that my blog got hacked, but I maintained that there would be life after death, and that I wouldn’t give up. And guess what??? The same night I got an email from an awesome guy named Donald in Texas. *virtual hug* God bless him, he told me how to de-hack my blog. Since I’m really not as technically savvy as I would like to think, I kept reading his email over and over and it took me about an hour to really figure out and find what he was talking about. Then finally I discovered the “java script” that was attacking my blog. I’ve been trying to figure this out for weeks. And in about 5 seconds, I was able to click and delete, and everything was back to normal. I”m so super excited. I really missed blogging and I was so sad every time I got a “what’s wrong with your website?” email. There were friends and family who asked “what’s wrong?” that I didn’t even know read my blog. Having my blog back has really given me a burst of inspiration and I really needed it. I was feeling so stuck. I won’t even give you the gory details on how I’ve only worked out once a week for the past few weeks, missed weight watcher meetings, and how my pants are tight from eating too much “devil food.” Fortunately, I gave away all of my fat girl clothes, so I have no choice but to get it together! I’m back, get ready for the great return! P.S. On a funny completely unrealted note, I went to the allergy doctor and they ran some tests. My biggest allergic reaction was to “dog.” The lady asked in her nicest voice “is there any chance of the dog finding a new home?” I really almost laughed in face for asking me to get rid of my baby! Nyah has lived with me for 6 years since she was 2 months old. I just smiled and said “No, that’s not negoatiable.” I’ll wash my sheets everyday and keep all the windows closed before I do that!
What am I talking about? Everything… I suppose there is life after the death of everything. There have been so many things going on in my life, and I haven’t written a blog post in forever, so I guess I’ll start there. A few weeks ago, someone hacked my blog, or put “mal-ware” on it if you want to be technical, because the tech support guy said if it had been hacked, you wouldn’t be able to see anything. Then he tried to tell me it was just my computer….I explained to him that people all over the country and the world for that matter e-mailed and told me they were having the same problem. Whatever the case, when you go to my website, after a few seconds you’re automatically redirected to some random websites like toys in China, airline flights, and unfortunately sometimes even porn (yikes)! I was so upset when I started getting e-mails from my readers and my runners letting me know what happened. I felt so defeated. All of my hard work that I put in over the past year, destroyed so quickly without warning. I felt like my blog died…. I’m only a quasi-nerd, I don’t really know how all this stuff happened or even how to fix it. In my spare time (yeah right) I’ve been trying to back up everything so that I can start over and re-build it. On top of all of this, we had a death in the family. My cousin who I called Uncle passed away and he was only 49. I have been very fortunate and at age 28…this was the first time I lost someone that I had an actual relationship with. He lived in my parents’ house for about 80% of my life and still did until he passed away. We weren’t best friends, but he has a Mii on my Wii, he spent the night at my house, we talked on the phone and he was helping me recruit back up dancers for my upcoming Fat to Fit to Fierce DVD. This has been harder than I imagined, but I’m also handling it better than I imagined. I do take comfort in knowing that he loved God and that he is out of pain. He was always a jokester, and even on his death bed, he told me “this is like the horror movie Misery
.” I laughed and told him, it’s not that bad…. You guys know that Stephen King movie where the obssessed lady holds the man hostage in the bed and breaks his feet and all these other crazy things to make sure he doesn’t escape. You all know my family is very close, so pray for all of us. The lesson I’m learning is that there is life after death. After some sicko killed my blog and life ran its course with my Uncle, there is still life after death. It may not be easy and it may be challenging and different, but rest assured there is still life and I’m going to live it to the fullest!
Oh NO! My blog has been hacked. I know nothing about this kind of stuff. Apparently my home page, and some of the links are redirecting people to all kinds of different places. I’m sorry for any inconvenience. If you are a computer tech, or now how to fix this problem, please email me. HELP! carli@runningintoshape.com
Happy Birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday Dear Running Into Shape, Happy Birthday to me! Okay, so I spent all week coming up with this fancy title and song, just to realize that technically, I think it’s my 1 Year blog Anniversary, not birthday. LOL! Nonetheless, One year ago today, I wrote my very 1st post. Way back then, I was just a fat girl who wanted to run, and send emails to my family and friends to keep my self accountable. I guess I’m still overweight, and still wanna run, but my website has grown so much more. I created my own Couch to 5K podcast, and created a Wall of Fame for my successful 5K runners. In January, I had nearly 800 visitors in one day, and have had almost 47,000 visitors total. I’m even a certified group fitness instructor, in the process of making a fitness DVD. This time last year I would’ve laughed it someone would have told me that this is where I would be today. There are a lot of other cool things that happened in the past year, most of which I talked about in my New Year’s Review Post. But just wanted to say, “Happy Birthday Running Into Shape!”
