Old Cheerleaders :-)

I was finally able to move on to the next week in my training schedule.  I was a little nervous about what to expect.  To my surprise, the goal for the day was a 25 minute run, and what do you know, I DID IT!  Baby, it hurt, and I had to send up some special prayers to get through that.  And guess what happened, my lil old guys showed up and cheered me on through just about every lap, and one even jogged with me for minute.  How cool is that?   I Completed 2.5 miles.  I may have had to limp down the stairs from the track, but I finished with a smile.

  •  **Of course my old guys look nothing like this, but I thought this pic was hilarious!!!

    Walkin’ At Work

Again under the “wonderful” influence of my co-worker friend, before lunch we power walked a WHOLE mile.  I was starting to perspire, not quite my style on my lunch break, but hey I did it.

    What’s My NAME???!!!

What’s My NAME???!!! I exclaimed as I completed my 20 minute run in the park today, only stopping to find the car keys I lost in my sports bra, and jogging in place at the stop light.  The little sister witnessed one of the total strangers that often cheer me on.  A girl yelled out her window, something to the effect of “get it gurl, you can do it!” Now why me out of all the other gazillion people that were running in the park today?  I assume it’s because I’m…*clearing throat*…curvy.   But this curvy chick accomplished her goal today, and beat my fastest mile record, again….  AND, at lunch time, under the strong encouragement of my co-worker friend we did a brisk walk for ½ mile before we ate salads.  Who am I??? LOL!

    On New Terrain

It was hard to get up and go, but I did.  I took my lil sister, her friend and Nyah to Forest park.  Today I was supposed to do a full 20 min run with no breaks, but the hills and the terrain at the park are very different from the track at the gym.  It was however nice to be kissed by the sun on almost warm spring day.  I did run for about 20 mins, but took a break in between.  In total I did 3.2 miles in just under an hour.
